John A. Sanders
Our President and CEO

John has over 25 years of experience as an intelligence professional in the U.S. Army, including combat experience. He served as an Executive officer to the Deputy Director National Intelligence, Policy, Plans, and Requirements, Office of the Director National Intelligence. He has extensive experience as an Army/DoD Cyberspace planning/strategy professional to include 2 years in the Pentagon. John helped orchestrate Computer Network Operations/Cyberspace campaign planning and implementation for Intelligence and Security Command in the Army. He is skilled in working with high level intelligence policies, programs, and strategies for Cyberspace and Cybersecurity for both the commercial and government sectors.

While on active duty, John was instrumental in providing operational oversight and seamless integration for the development of mature state-of-the-art technologies, concepts, partnerships, training initiatives, and policies in support of Army Intelligence. He orchestrated Computer Network Operations (CNO) and Cyberspace campaign planning and implementation for Intelligence and Security Command which led to the formation of the Army’s 1st Cyber Brigade. He also collaborated with USSTRATCOM, NSA, USD(I), Joint Staff J2, TRADOC, Army Staff, ARSTRAT and the Intelligence Community concerning Computer Network Attack, Computer Network Exploitation, and Computer Network Defense. John has also worked on cyber analytic efforts to include characterization of signature and non-signature based cyber threats across the 7 layers of the OSI model. In the private sector, John has previously advised a Fortune 500 company and large defense IT contractor on Cyber Strategy and Cybersecurity capability development for commercial offerings and large government contract efforts. John is currently serving as a contracted Senior Cybersecurity Research Analyst on the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) Special Security Directorate staff providing Subject Matter Expertise on Cyber Policy and Technical Strategy.

John holds a bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University in Business Administration. He is an Army trained strategic planner and graduated from the elite School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) a component of the Army’s Command and General Staff College at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas. The mission of SAMS is to educate selected members of the Armed Forces, our Allies, and the Interagency at the graduate level to become agile and adaptive leaders who are critical and creative thinkers who produce viable options to solve operational and strategic problems. Upon completion, he was awarded a master’s degree in Military Art and Science from this program. John also earned a master’s degree in Telecommunications Management from Webster University, where he graduated with honors.

John is an honorary Admiral in the Texas Navy. He is a Knowlton Award recipient – a very prestigious award given to selected Army Intelligence professionals. John is an Airborne Ranger and served two combat tours (Iraq) in the 82nd Airborne Division.
